MGB has been active in precision mechanics since 1980.
It was born from the experience of Alessandro Gandolfi, borrowed from the mechanical companies of the Lecco area. We have always carried out mechanical turning and milling processes, specializing in the construction of moulds for blow moulding and injection of plastic materials.
Today our commitment is aimed at the customer for the supply of a complete service: from the design of the article to the creation of production equipment, through co-design and industrialization processes.
Since 2003 the company is located in Merate (Lecco) in 1600 square meters of production area and 200 square meters of offices.
Design
We are specialized in design of mould and relative part, with CAD/CAM 3D softwares for mechanical and aesthetical products.
We operate with reverse engineering instruments, rapid prototipying and rendering for your projects and tools.
Our CAD softwares convert all 3D standard project, with solid and surface features for creation and changes of parts, making assembly of multiples parts and technical draws for making or inspection.
For our 3D projects we use FEM calculation and fluid dynamics.
Our CAM softwares generate 5 axis milling procedures for our numerically controlled machines, with simulation, continuous monitoring and testing of production according to industry 4.0 protocol.
We also have machines for quality inspection and testing of our production.
Moulds
MGB is specialized in design and production of extrusion-blow moulds and pet blow moulds for bottle from 5 ml to 60 litres, for all applications:
– pharmaceuticals
– chemicals
– foodstuffs
– cosmetics
– detergents
We make all optional tools like blowing pin, cutting tools and others.
We product also injection mould and other types of mould for industrial’s applications.
Milling
MGB has 12 high speed milling numerically controlled machines, with 3 axis and continuous 5 axis, until milling dimensions of 2000x950x750 mm.
Tools for high feed milling and heavy duty machines works stainless steels and titanium alloys.
Micro-tools until diameter 0,1 mm, balanced thermal closure tool-holders and spindles with 50.000 rpm make precision finishes of small parts, reducing electro-erosion processes, that we have internal with n°2 numerical control machines.
5 axis continuous milling make high finishes of hardened steel, reducing grinding operations and manual polishing.
Deep drilling, rigid tapping and precision boring are performed on 5-axis machines with positioned axes for uncompromising quality.
Turning
MGB has numerically controlled lathes with motorized tools for the production of multiple parts, even in the presence of milling and auxiliary holes.
For the turning of single parts we have a large range of parallel lathes for diameters from 1 mm until 800 mm. Any auxiliary milling and drilling operations are completed with milling machines with work coordinates display and inclined tables.
We specialize in the turning of precision parts, even extra-long and with thin walls, made of:

Grinding
MGB has n°4 numerically controlled surface grinding machines, which allow grinding up to size 1200x600x400 mm of multiple parts.
For the grinding of single parts we have a manual surface grinding machine and a universal cylindrical grinding machine, which allows the grinding of both shafts and holes up to the smallest diameters.
We are specialized in the grinding of pieces, even extra-long and thin, in:

– copper alloys
